THE BODY SHOP: ALOE PROTECTIVE RESTORING MASK

by - August 08, 2012

Hola guys, how have you been? Lately I'm not really busy with college stuffs, but I spent a lot of time hanging out with some friends because we haven't met for pretty long time. Spending time with friends is really nice, and hang out with old friends is awesome too! I think its one of the most important thing in life, to have good relationship with God, family and friends.

So today I'm going to review The Body Shop: Aloe Protective Restoring Mask that I have been using for some months, well  its my own rule that I should've used the product (especially skin care) at least for 3 months before review it, so I could see if the product does some changes to my skin.

What The Body Shop says:
BEST IF YOU WANT TO: Strengthen your skin’s natural barrier with an intensive, creamy leave-on mask that softens and instantly cools.
BEST FOR: sensitive skin
How it works: Use once a week to provide a soothing blanket of protection to sensitive skin.
  • Community Trade sesame oil helps to soften skin and create a protective shield that prevents water loss and restores suppleness.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Aloe Barbadensis Gel, Octyl Palmitate, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Pentylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Isononyl Isononanoate, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Stearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Lanolin, Polyglyceryl-3 Beeswax, Alpha-Glucan Oligosaccharide, Tocopheryl Acetate, Levulinic Acid, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Hydroxide, p-Anisic Acid, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Flour, Water

  • INSTRUCTION:
  • Apply to the skin after cleansing and toning. Leave on for up to 20 minutes, then gently massage into the skin. Remove any excess with a tissue - rinsing required.

(The jar is still 90% full because I took this photo couple months ago)

This mask is suitable for sensitive skin, I don't have a sensitive skin, but its not a sin to try this mask, even though the result will be better for people who has dry skin that people who has oily skin like me. Just apply it onto your clean face for about 10-30 minutes and clean it with lukewarm water. Some people says that The Body Shop products are expensive, but I think its not, because if you do this regimen once a week, one jar of mask will last for more than half a year, The Body Shop products always come in big size which is good, even you spend some money for the products, but every jar or bottle will last at least for 4-6 months, so it makes sense that I said The Body Shop is really affordable.

After I apply it to my face and rinse my face off, I feel my skin a lot softer. The texture is creamy and smells organic and very soothing, the smell will go away after you rinse your face. It will sink to your skin really fast.

After using this mask for some months, I don't see or feel any effect, maybe its because I don't have sensitive or dry skin? But I really like the feeling after I used the mask, I feel my skin a lot softer, chewy and moisturize my face too! :) For you who has dry skin or sensitive skin, you might want to try this mask! Not recommended for oily skin type though.
