Beauty Appetite by Jessica Simon

Hi beauty peeps! Sorry for the lack of posts this month, I've been really busy at work, and will stay that way until the next couple of months. Just in case you miss me, you can find me on twitter or instagram haha.

So last month I received a set of shampoo and conditioner from La Rose Rouge, truth is I never heard anything about this particular brand or products, but I gave them a try. For a month of usage, I still have more than half of products left, so I'll say that this set will last you for about 2 months (note: I wash my hair every two days).
I tried their Passion Series - Repair Damaged Hair, and they're only sold in set for IDR 150,000 (so each of them is about IDR 75,000). And since I dyed my hair, and styled my hair a lot, these set are perfect for my hair. Well, it's not badly damaged, but the ends are a bit dry.

Repair Damaged Hair Shampoo
Both of these products smells like rose, it's a mild fragrance, not too overwhelming. The shampoo comes in thick formula that creates much soap to clean my hair. It nourishes and cleans my hair really well, it doesn't give that squeaky clean feeling, but soften my hair, even before the conditioner. Sometimes, I have to rush in the morning, so I don't really mind leaving the conditioner behind, which I used to hate, because my hair will be so frizzy, dry, and hard to maintain if I don't use my conditioner. So I can tell that even the La Rose Rouge shampoo alone really nourishes my hair! I love touching my silky smooth hair now :)

Repair Damaged Hair Conditioner
For the next level of soft and silky hair, I use the conditioner. The consistency isn't tacky like any other conditioner, it's more like a gel lotion. I leave the conditioner for about 2 minutes before rinsing it off with water. I love the feeling of my ultra smooth hair, it's now really easy to maintain, even the ends are now much softer than before.

Somehow, even I like their pump packaging, I really hope that they create two different designs for the shampoo and conditioner, because they pretty much look the same except for the small 'shampoo' and 'conditioner' texts. All in all, I think this set is perfect for damaged hair, you should try them out for yourself so you can see the difference! :D

XOXO

 Happy Sunday you guys!
I just want to remind you that you can still get silver jewelries from Soufeel using my discount code, which is 'Simon5' to get 5% off your purchase.

Soufeel has different types of jewelries, my favourite one is of course my Amethyst Ring that symbolise my birthstone. Find out what's your birthstone here.
They also have other kind of accessories that are not silvers, if you're looking for cheaper alternatives. But I'd totally recommend the silver ones, so you don't have to worry about them fading.
Mitchy matchy with my outfit!
Plus, if you spend $100, you'll get free pearl earrings like I have here. Isn't it cool? ;)

If you're interested, you can use 'Simon5' when checking out to get 5% off all purchase (Valid until 20 August 2015).

XOXO

I'm totally in love with this cute matching set that I got from Zaful. I've always loved wearing easy breezy top, especially when I can pair it with matching midi skirt! Though the crop is supposed to be cropped top, I ordered one size bigger by purpose so the top completely covers my stomach area haha.
I love the design, though I'm not 100% sure if they're hibiscus, but they look like tropical flowers. The clothes themselves are actually from thin fabric, but what I like about them is because they're not see-through! The problem when you live in Indonesia, you don't want to reveal too much skin.

The skirt has already brought so many colours with it, so I can always dress it up or dress it down. I paired the skirt with plain white tee, and it looked good too.

If you're looking for trendy but affordable clothing, make sure to check Zaful out! They have tons of good stuffs there, they offer free shipping worldwide, and they always have promotions going on! So, what's not to like? :D

Hi peeps! I had actually posted a review about Benefit Roller Lash Mascara, but not this one in particular. Hahaha. I know it's kind of weird, so let me try to explain.... Early this year, a secret mascara was sent to me and other beauty bloggers/vloggers, no one mentioned the brand of the mascara, and it came in a plain black tube. We had to try it out and give our opinions about it. We didn't know anything about the mascara, so our opinions wouldn't be biased.

You can read my Secret Mascara Blind Test here.

The review would be pretty much the same, but you can see the real packaging here, and I wrote that post using Bahasa Indonesia, so here's the English version!
So the story behind this mascara is to minimize eyelash curler application, and in my case I don't even need to use eyelas curler at all if I use this mascara! The brush material is made of flexible plastic, and as you can see at the picture below the brush length is shorter on one side and longer on the other side. It makes it easier to apply the mascara on the lower lashes and it does a really good job at separating the lashes.

This mascara really gives much lifting on eyelashes, and it also gives volume to lashes without any clumps! The texture is wet and not icky sticky, that it only takes a few seconds to dry. Though it's not waterproof mascara, I never experienced smudging. A Moslem friend of mine also use Roller Lash and never had her mascara smearing or bleeding when she takes her ablution before prayers, isn't it awesome?
Benefit always has the best mascaras like They're Real and Bad Gal, if you have tried at least one of them, then I'm sure you already knew their quality. I'd recommend this mascara for anyone who has straight lashes (like I do!), cause it's time to throw away your eyelash curler girls! ;)

My beauty addictions come from many things, friends, ads, families, and of course, youtubers. I love watching people talk about beauty products they love and they work on their skins, I'm sure you'll have to agree with me, because youtubers have made great impacts in beauty industry. I know so many makeup and skincare brands that are still not available in Indonesia from watching youtube. So when people just started buying Naked palette from Urban Decay, I already got mine from years and years ago when they were still so hard to get here, thanks to youtube! It's like almost every products that are mentioned by famous youtubers will go viral and everyone wants to try it out as well.

Not only for makeup, but also skincare! God knows how many 'skincare routine' videos I've watched on youtube... LOTS! And this product that I'm going to review today, was mentioned in almost every 'skincare routine' videos that I've ever watched, no kidding. I was intrigued, of course, by that many people who use this product, but alas, it wasn't available in Indonesia at that time. So can you imagine how happy I was when I finally found it in drugstores? Yasssss. Finally I can try it out! It's the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser.
Description:
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is a mild, non-irritating formulation that soothes skin as it cleans. In fact, it's gentle enough for a baby's delicate skin. Designed specifically to work for all skin types, it is a simple, yet highly effective way to care for your skin.
~ Best-seller product
~ As gentle as it gets — soothes and cleanses, leaving skin smooth and soft
~ Mild, soap-free formula cleanses without irritation — it won’t strip skin of its natural protective oils or emollients
~ Moisturizes without leaving residue that can clog pores
~ Good for special skin needs including those of rosacea-prone skin
Let's just say that everything is fit to what it's described. It's really gentle on the skin, great for sensitive skin, and even infants! That's how gentle this skin cleanser is. When I was at the drugstore, I noticed that they have huge 1 litre bottle, and later I knew that this cleanser can be used for both face and body, how convenient!

This cleanser is totally different than any other face cleanser that I've ever tried in my entire life. First, the texture is more like a liquid gel form. Secondly, it's soap-free, so it doesn't make much soap like my other face cleanser, it felt a wee bit weird at first, like I didn't clean my face thoroughly, I guess it's because I used to use cleanser with exfoliators (the one that has micro beads in it). But surprisingly, when I rinsed off my face, my skin felt squeaky clean, and it didn't feel like being stripped off like it used to after I washed my face with exfoliators. On the other hand, my skin feels soft and moisturized. So I guess difference is not always a bad thing, eh? :)
The cool thing about Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is you can use it in two different ways!
~ Pour the cleanser on your palm, apply it on face on circular motion, then rinse it off with water. It's best if you don't wet your face before applying the cleanser.
~ Use it as milk cleanser, apply it all over your face and wipe off with cotton or wet wash cloth, no rinsing needed.

I normally use it as regular face cleanser in my daily basis. But it'd be great to bring this along with me when I travel later, since I only have to bring one cleanser for face and body, plus when I'm exhausted, I can just clean my face with it and wipe it off with cotton, very practical and efficient.
It doesn't give an instant result, but I can see my skin has been getting better, it has been less irritated, the redness has reduced a lot. The only problem that I have with this cleanser is it doesn't have any oil control, so sometimes I switch it up with the Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser, that's most suitable to oily skin type. I'd recommend you to use the Oily Skin Cleanser if you have oily skin like I do, but if you have normal, dry, sensitive skin, you should try their Gentle Skin Cleanser!

You can find them at Watson, Guardian, Century, Foodhall, Kemchicks Pacific Place, AEON and other drugstores.
I love how both Gentle Skin Cleanser and Oily Skin Cleanser can remove all the dirts on my skin without making drying my skin, I never feel my skin being stretch out after washing my face, because I experienced it on some facial cleanser. It doesn't irritate my skin, and since it's really gentle, I don't discover any breakouts. It's soap-free and fragrance-free, it leaves my skin supple and moisturized. I'm looking forward to encounter more good things from this product.

I guess you'll have to find out yourself why everyone is raving about this product :)

XOXO

3 Eyeshadow Palettes

5 Eyebrow pencils + 1 Black eyeliner

13 Lipsticks
I used and smeared the last one (left row) hahaha

And, that's all I got! Let me know if you want me to review any products mentioned above, I'll try my best to review it :)

XOXO

I've always been that kind of girl who hides under the shades in the afternoon, who hates being under the sun, who always cover my face when walking outside. I rarely use sun protection for my face, I usually just use skincare-infused makeup like BB or CC cream that already has SPF in it. The reason why I hate sunscreen is because, to me, sunscreen is sticky, has weird scent, and hard to absorb into the skin.

Until I was introduced with Kiehl's new and improved Ultra Light Daily UV Defense Sunscreen last month. I was super stocked to try it, because I always like Kiehl's products (most of my skin care products are from Kiehl's since 2013!). I've been using this for at least 6 weeks, and I love it!
The packaging is pretty much still the same with the old one, but it's improved from SPF 50 PA+++ to SPF 50 PA++++. The new sunscreen offers better anti-aging protection, and UVA protection (sun rays that penetrate deeper into the skin and cause long term skin aging).

Kiehl’s also promised that this sunscreen will protect skin against the appearance of dark spots, freckles, wrinkles, skin darkening, protecting skin against premature skin aging, non-comedogenic and is safe for sensitive skin.
This sunscreen is totally different from the others, it doesn't have pungent smell, and because it's a liquid based sunscreen, it doesn't feel sticky once you apply it, and absorb into the skin really fast without any oily or greasy feeling.
Because I have oily skin, I'm super pleased that this sunscreen is so lightweight and it sinks into the skin really quick and doesn't leave any white residue! I can apply it alone or top it off with makeup. Besides being a weightless sunscreen, it also helps to moisturise my skin, so it's a win-win!
I've been told couple times already that using a complete range of skin care is pretty much useless if you don't use sunscreen everyday, so finding this product is totally a game changing for me who hates icky sticky sunscreen. Now I don't have to feel bad anymore for not using sunscreen, and I will continue to use this, the best one I've encountered so far, sunscreen.

Rating: 4.5/5

It really took me a while to finally publish this post, I had to take dozens of pictures and edit them, I have to upload good quality and nicely edited photos because I personally like this kind of post, so I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do making it :) I know that matte lipsticks are trending, but I will always choose glossy lips any day. I personally think that dead matte lips look flat, while glossy lips look more flattering. So last month I bought not one but six of these hot babes: L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paint.

At the first glance, the packaging looks like Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks, but for the texture, they're pretty much like OCC Lip Tar. There are lots of different shades to choose from, I finally decided to get these 6 shades that I think will complement my skin tone: Hot Mess, Tango, Feisty, Pin-Up, Bombshell, and Blushing.

And here is the swatches:
(Left: without flash | Right: with flash)
I like that it doesn't look super glossy and greasy like you just eat something oily. It's a very pigmented gloss, so you only need a little bit of product for the whole lips. I always find it hard to apply it directly from the tube, so I always get help from my trusty lip brush for a neat application. The texture is creamy, and you'd feel minty feeling on the lips with strong peppermint scent.

All the colors are really pretty, you can apply these lip paint alone, layered it over lipsticks or mix some different colors to create new colors!

HOT MESS

Hotmess: a really fun coral/orange.

TANGO

Tango: Gorgeous peachy-pink.

FEISTY

Feisty: cool toned red.

PIN-UP

Pin-up: Lovely red.

BOMBSHELL

Bombshell: cool toned fuschia.

BLUSHING

Blushing: my favorite color from the set! Beautiful mauve.

Watch this video for more swatches:

A bonus cameo from this cutie pie...

Overall, I think these lip paints really worth the hype. I love the color pay off, it's not drying my lips, and the colors are all gorgeous. I don't recommend to apply them directly from the tube, but I recommend you to apply lip liners before the lip paint because they would bleed if you don't.l. I usually squeezed a bit of product on the back of my hand and use lip brush to apply them, it's much easier!

RATING: 4/5

Have you tried any L.A. Glazed Lip Paint?
What do you think about them?

XOXO
