Beauty Appetite by Jessica Simon

Who can resist these beautiful blusher by Etude House? Well, I can't.. that's why I got five shades of them for myself, it originally has 10 shades, but I think the other shades are too pale for my skin tone, and that's why I only bought 5 of them.

(Clockwise from top left: #2 Strawberry Choux, #3 Raspberry Tarte, #4 Carrot Cheesecake, #6 Grapefruit Jelly, #7 Rose Sugar Macaron)

They look incredibly cute, Etude House is really popular with the cute packaging and interior design.. The blushers are travel friendly, because they're lightweight and also have sturdy packaging. 2 of 5 are matte, which are the #2 Strawberry Choux and #6 Grapefruit Jelly, and the others are glittery).

#2 Strawberry Choux
Beautiful soft baby pink, and the best thing is its matte. It suits my skin tone really well, but it may not work so well with darker skin tone. This color is the lightest shade of all, but the color pay off really good.

#3 Raspberry Tarte
It looks bold hot pink color in pan, try apply it on a tiny amount on your cheeks. The color is really pigmented and long lasting.

#4 Carrot Cheesecake
The color is not as pigmented as the others, however this is a beautiful color even though its so sheer.

#6 Grapefruit Jelly
This one is my favorite shade, because it is matte and I love coral pink color especially for blush!

#7 Rose Sugar Macaron
Not really my favorite, but still this color is gorgeous. I love to use this when I'm going out at night, because I prefer natural look during day time, unless there's meeting and stuffs.

SWATCHES:
 (without flash)

(with flash)

I just realized that the swatch for #6 Grapefruit Jelly looks glittery, sorry for that! I only used one brush to apply all the blushers on my hand, and the glitter didn't show up in my camera :( But actually the color doesn't has any glitter in it.

Most of the color has really great pay off and also long lasting, especially the darker shades. They last about 6-8 hours on my skin, lighter shades tend to fade in 4-6 hours.

Repurchase: Only the matte ones :)

No, I'm not sponsored by Vaseline. But I wish I was, see pic above, they're just few Vaseline products that I have, I have more of them actually. Vaseline products are all affordable, and really easy to find, I always get one or two every time I go to drugstore, I think that's why I have so many of their products. But today is not the day where I review all of Vaseline products, I just want to remind you that your skin also needs love, sometimes I only care about my facial skin and neglect my body skin.

I'm uploading this pic to show you there are so many types of body lotion, even they came from the same brand! Some body lotions will lighten up your skin tone, some that you have to use at night, some that you have to use before go out, etc etc.

Protect your skin daily, especially when you're going to do outdoor activities, and make sure to do it correctly, or it won't work out. Prevent sun damage to your skin, we don't want premature aging, sunburnt or the worse is skin cancer.

Here are the best way to apply sunscreen/sunblock:

1. Apply sunscreen or sunblock before you go outside, because the sunscreen needs time to absorb to your skin and works out, apply it about 20-30 minutes before you go out.

2. Apply thick layer of sunblock to your skin

3. Use sunscreen with at least SPF 30

4. Use sunblock daily, because sun's UV ray can pass through clouds, your car's window, and also your clothes. Even you don't do outdoor activities, you still get that sun's UV ray while you're getting into or out of your car, or while you're going to bus station and stuffs like that.

5. Reapply sunscreen every 90 minutes, so make sure to have a travel size sunscreen in your bag!

Love your skin, and your skin will thank you.

My last tutorial post is like two months ago, so last weekend when I was getting ready to go out, I took my time to take some step-by-step pics of how I do my makeup. I only used two colors of eyeshadow, easy peasy! Here I'll show you how to recreate the look...

Start off with moisturizer, then apply makeup base, continue to foundation/bb cream and concealer, do your eyebrows after that.

Use eye primer first, then apply black eyeshadow on the outer part of your eyes, and don't forget to tap off the excess from your brush, because we don't want the eyeshadow to fall all over your eyes and ended up looking like a panda,... unless you want to look like a panda,... in your date night.......
Another tips is to apply black eyeshadow little by little until you get the intensity that you want.

Then apply beautiful purple violet eyeshadow from the inner part to the middle part of your eyes, then blend the two colors together.

Apply violet eyeshadow to your bottom lash line, then add black eyeshadow to the outer part of your bottom lash line. Use small eyeliner brush to do this.

Blend blend blend the eyeshadow, add black eyeliner, curl your lashes, apply mascara, and if you like, you can also apply fake lashes.

Finish off with powder, blush and bronzer. Apply your favorite lip gloss and you're ready to go!

Products I use:
* Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil Free Gel Cream
* The Face Shop Lovely Me Ex: Make Up Base (review)
* Pond's White Beauty BB+ Cream
* Lioele Artist Auto Eyebrow (review)
* Urban Decay Primer Potion
* NYX Winter in Moscow Palette
* Sariayu 25th Anniversary Eyeshadow Palette (review)
* Tony Moly Backstage Gel Liner #1 (Black)
* The Face Shop Lashes Curler
* Maybelline The Magnum Volume Express Mascara
* NYX Matte Bronzer (Medium)
* Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher (Strawberry Choux)
* Lioele Skinfix Powder Pact (Oil Control Type)
* NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss Natural (review)

What do you think about this look?

You guys know how I love my Revlon Colorburst Lipbutter which I reviewed here and here. These guys caught my eyes when I was at some drugstore the other day, and finally got two shades of Colorburst Lipstick line.

The lipsticks that I picked was 028 - Rose Nectar and 095 - Crimson. The packaging is almost the same as Revlon Colorburst Lipbutter, but the Colorburst Lipstick has black solid color for the packaging, and on top of lipstick cap there's the lipstick color, when the Lipbutter ones has clear packaging. And I'm not really sure if you can see it in the pic, but if you look closely, you can see 'REVLON' is engraved in the lipstick, and I think it looks really pretty!

028 - Rose Nectar
Sheer pinkish coral with glitters in it.

095 - Crimson
A classic red.

The texture of these lippie is really creamy, really easy to apply on your lips, because it goes really smooth on your lips. It is not moisturizing my lips, but it doesn't dry up my lips so I don't really mind.

SWATCH: without flash

SWATCH: with flash

As you can see, Rose Nectar is sheer with lots of gold sparkels, if only it doesn't have sparkels in it, it would be my favorite lipstick, because I love sheer lipstick. The color is so great on my lips, I use it every single day, with or without makeup, there's not a lot of lipstick that you can wear without makeup, you know,.. but this is the perfect one!

Crimson has a great color payout, I love the classic red color, really reminds me of 50's :)
If you never try using red lipstick, but you wanted to try one, my tip is to use lip brush, and apply tiny amount of lipstick on your lips, you can always build up the color little by little until you get the exact color to your liking. I find it easier to do rather than applying the lipstick directly to your lips.

Swatches on my lips:
Bare lips

028 - Rose Nectar

095 - Crimson

They're amazing!
But I heard that Colorburst Lipstick is being discontinued :(
I love both of the lippies, they're affordable, they're great, so creamy and also pigmented. I guess all I have to do now is to stock up!! I will buy every Revlon Colorburst Lipstick wherever I find it.

I was invited to Pond's Bloggers Gathering on Tuesday, 20th August, and I was introduced to Pond's new line, which will be launched next month (September 2013), Pond's Acne Complete Solution. I was excited to go to the event, well who wasn't? Acne is like the biggest skin problem of my life, and it's also what I'm still dealing with. No matter how old you are, even you're a man or woman, you deal with acne and acne related problems like oily skin, big pores, whiteheads, blackheads and stuffs. Probably this event was the answer of my prayer to have perfect skin.

Everyone deals with acne, especially girls, because period affects our hormon, and it causes acne, thats why it's called hormonal acne. And also we have a curse for living in a tropical country (like Indonesia), where climate is humid most of the year oily skin is a common skin problem. Oily skin doesn't cause acne, but sebum (sebum=oil in the skin) is a contributor to acne, if it clogs on pores, it can cause pimples, there are lots and lots of things that can cause acne. Acne came to my life since I was in high school, and it hasn't left me since. I've never talked to anyone about it, but actually it pretty much affected my life, like I don't feel confident about myself. Even now my skin is recovering and has been a lot better, but it still leaves acne scars on my cheeks, chin and also forehead, for now all I can do is to cover the scars with makeup *sigh*

And because acne is most high school students' problem, and the 'Acne Complete Solution' line is more focusing on teenagers/juvenile's skin problem, the theme of the event was "101 High School', where we can learn how to take care of our skin, how to reduce acne and stuffs! Pond's team was successfully set the area to look like high school, there's canteen, library, classroom, and we were sitting in the medical room, how cool was that? I felt like back to high school.
And please excuse the quality of pictures, I left my DSLR camera in my car, and was too lazy to go back to car park, so I use my iPhone camera instead.

Some blogger friends who also joined the event with me.

Some more blogger friends... And that's the library I was talking about! Cool, eh?

Even the speakers dressed like teachers (and medical teacher!), there were dr. Eddy Karta SpKK, a skin expert who taught us how to treat our skin, and also the beautiful Ms. Debora Gondokusumo, Pond's Brand Manager who taught us about Acne Complete Solution's goodness. Both of them have amazing skin, I guess they also use Pond's products lol.

And as always, we get stuffs to bring home! It is the '10 Things You Need To Survive School' :)
Everything is in turquoise shades, LOVE!!

A cute notebook with some helpful tips in it! Its great to make some notes when you're studying, or you can make some doodles when you're bored in class.

At first I thought it was a wallet, but actually its a LOT better, its a compact MIRROR!! Who says you can look pretty in class, and plus you can eyeing that cute boy who sits across the classroom from the mirror without fear of getting caught.

A pretty hand fan. It will become handy when you're out of your comfortable-air-conditioned-classroom, the power outages and stuffs!

Pencil, Pen, Peppermints, and Earphones (just in case you're bored, or to listen to music when you're on your way to school or go back home).

and the most important things of all are..... *drum rolls*
Pond's Acne Complete Solution gang! (Still in packaging lol)

Acne Clear White Multi Action Facial Foam + Scrub with:
* Oil-absorbing herbal clay to remove excess oil and reduce redness and blemishes
* Acne-fighting salicylic acid to removes 99% of acne bacteria, and instant action on blackheads and whiteheads
* Gentle, exfoliating scrub beads to exfoliates dead skin cells, make pores look tightened, fades away dark spots due to dirt, dust and impurities, and also smoothens rough skin
It is so great that it fights 10 oil & acne problems!

Pimple Cover & Care Concealer Pen to instantly cover redness and treats pimples on the go. It is the first ever Pimple Cover & Care Concealer Pen that contains concentrated pimple correction formula which helps to instantly conceal your pimples. It works like the usual concealer, you use it to conceal acne scars, and even pimples which usually red, but it claims to treat pimples also. Its like killing two birds with one stone, eh?
Unfortunately, it only has one shade, but they said that they had made a research this shade is the most common skin color in South East Asia. I just hope that they will create more shades for the concealer, because the shade is a little bit darker for my skin tone.

Overnight Pimple Care Gel
with an active known to visibly reduce redness, minimize inflammation and dry up pimples. It works through the night while you sleep, apply it after you wash your face onto your pimples, not to your whole face. Do this once a day at night to reduce redness and dry up the pimples.

Oil Control Cleansing Wipes
This might be my favorite from Acne Complete Solution line, use this to remove oil and waterproof make up anytime, anywhere. And the product is available in two size, 7 wipes and 25 wipes. From this event, I also learned that blotting paper is not completely effective to remove oil, its better just to use wipes. And it would be better if you use facial wipes for your face, and not baby wipes or other wet wipes. Its the same rule like not using body wash for your face, your facial skin is more sensitive, and you'll notice how soft this wipes are! Purrrfect!

Pond's introduces 3 easy steps so we can have clear skin and worry free about oily skin and acne!
1. Clean yo' face!
You can use Acne Clear White Facial Cleanser, or the Oil Control Cleansing Wipes
2. Conceal acne scars!
Conceal the acne scars with Pimple Cover & Care Concealer Pen
3. Fight the acne!
Fight acne with Overnight Pimple Care Gel

And hopefully the acne will be gone and the scars will fade away! Life is full of problems, but acne ain't one... Welcome to the new era, where you don't have to worry about acne! :D
I was impressed with the products. If you do the 3 easy steps regularly, you will get that clear face you've been longing for. But please remember that the products need time to work perfectly on your skin, and your skin also needs time to adapt with the products. Beauty doesn't come in instant way, but you will notice that your skin is so much better day by day.

Last pic is a #camho of Pond's team, blogger friends, and I. We had so much fun!
Thanks to Pond's Indonesia for having me, hope I can join other Pond's event in the future :)

I love shoes.
High-heeled, platform, wedges, sneakers, ankle boots, oxford, ballet flats, mules, slippers, all of them.
I love them. I will never have enough shoes in my life.

And as an Asian, I'm pretty tall.
People do not need to mention that I'm tall, I am aware that I am tall.

Who says that high-heeled shoes are made only for small-short-petite girls?
Who says that tall girls cannot wear killer heels?

Dear everyone, I'm only 174 centimeters.
I'm not making any sin from being pretty tall and wearing high-heeled shoes.

Would you please stop looking and whispering about me, my heights and my attire to your friends?
Thank you.

Sincerely,

The one that's aware being whispered.

Hello! Sorry for no updates in the past week, I went to some places with my beloved family (and also Franklin, the Miniature Schnauzer) for vacation, I love how we (the children; me and my sisters) are all grown up, and even my parents are busy with business, but we can still manage some time to spend our family time together.

But that means I have load of posts coming up, many reviews, tutorials and stuffs! ;)
Today's review is about the NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss, yes you may have heard of this lip gloss, and maybe you also own some of them,  so recently I bought the 'Kiss The Stars' set (LGSET01), it contains three lip glosses: LG101A - Sugar Pie, LG129 - Beige, and LG122 - Natural.
All the colors are great for everyday, all of them are neutral colors. The Sugar Pie is the one on top, nude-light beige color with sparkles. Beige is the one in the middle, which is not even beige, it looks pink in the tube, but it will look nude-pink when you apply it on your lips. And the last one is my favorite, Natural looks a bit scary (because it looks dark brown) in the tube, but it is the best 'My Lips But Better' lip gloss I have ever tried. You can wear the lip gloss alone on your lips, or you can top off your lipstick with the gloss. For the opacity, Sugar Pie doesn't do a really good job, because the color is light, you cannot do much with the color, but it will work amazing if you top it off after your lipstick, it has sparkles, but not too much, great as 3D effect lip gloss. For Beige and Natural, you can wear the lip gloss alone, because the color payoff is great and they're also buildable.

Here are the swatches:

Later, I found that Natural is pretty similar with my The Skin Food: Choco Smoky Lip Color minus the glossy look. The Choco Smoky Lip Color has a lot better fragrant, which is chocolate! And the NYX mega shine lip gloss has sweet scent, which I don't like, but the smell goes away quickly though, so I don't really mind. The most amazing thing about this lip gloss is that it doesn't make my lips dry, while most of lip glosses do. Love it!
