Beauty Appetite by Jessica Simon

Every girl likes nail art, its really a fun thing to do. But what if I cannot draw? Because drawing on paper and drawing on nails are two different things. Then I've figured out how to make easy but neat striped nails that you can do at home! I use no brush at all, because I'm suck with drawing using small brushes ;p. Just follow the instruction below:

All you need is your base coat, top coat, nail polishes and the most important thing, Scotch Magic Tape! You'll find many magic tape at bookstore, cut the tape into small pieces then apply your nail polish onto it. Let it dry for some minutes, then cut into smaller thin pieces, these thin pieces will be our stripes later. You may need more layer applied to the tape for more intense color. (In this tutorial I'm using 2 stripes colors: pink and white).

And we're finish! Really easy to follow right? Tell me what do you think about it.

If you're too busy with study or work, its not only you who are tired and sleepy, your eyes are tired too. I learned that using light eyeshadow for eyes is really essential to make your eyes look less tired and make you look really fresh! In this tutorial, I'm using peach and pink.

1. First, use eyeshadow base.
2. Use peach color all over your lids.

3-4. Use pink color in the outer corner of your eyes.
5-6. Blend the edges, then line your inner lower lash line with peach, and the outer with pink

7. Add black eyeshadow in the crease and the outer part of your lids.
8-9. Line your lash line with black eyeliner.

10. Line your lower lash line with black pencil liner.
11. Curl your lashes.
12. Apply your mascara.
13. FINAL RESULT.

Have a great weekend girls :)

Honestly, at first I thought this is a normal eyebrow pencil, because this pencil is dual-ended, the pencil and the sponge to blend the color to your eyebrow. But I didn't buy this as an eyebrow pencil, but to line lower lash line, thats why I bought the black one. I should've bought the brown one if I wanted to use it as an eyebrow pencil, right? ;)

And I found out that many people use it as an eyeliner pencil, I tried it then. I couldn't say that this eye definer is good as eyeliner, well the product does a pretty good job, but there are some problems that this product has if I use it as eyeliner. The first thing is, the eyeliner doesn't go really smooth, I should put a little more effort to apply it on your eyes back and forth so the color will pay off, which is not good for our eyes.

Second thing is, I have partial-monolid eyes. So it means that I have to put much more eyeliner in the inner part of my eyes so the color will show off. And this product doesn't do a great job for my half monolid eyes, it smudge and the color doesn't stay too long (BOOO!!).

Last thing is, I cannot tight-line and water-line my eyes with this eye definer. The color doesn't pay off at all. So I use this eye definer just like what I wanted from the start, only to line my lower lash line, not for my upper lash line.

I think this pencil will work best as an eyebrow pencil beside it only gives sheer color, it also has sponge to blend the color so your eyebrow will look natural. The sponge applicator is not a soft sponge, it has the pencil wood underneath the sponge so the sponge is so stiff, doesn't matter how hard you blend the color with the sponge, the sponge will not break easily. Really easy to remove, even without make up remover, just wet wipes will do.

(After being smudged out with smudger)

I would recommend this if you want to use this product as eyebrow pencil or line you lower lash line. I wouldn't recommend this for everyone who has oily lids, the color fades easily. So overall, it's pretty expensive for a pencil which only used for lining your lower lash line. I definitely will not buy this carbon eye definer again.

Hi adorable girls out there! Thank you for your time coming here to read my blog. Today is going to be my first time to review a make up brush, which is the Foundation Brush from The Body Shop. I've used this foundation brush for more than half a year, so I think its the right time to review it.

Because The Body Shop is cruelty-free, so the brush isn't made from animal hair but synthetic fibers, which is good, because a foundation brush is better made from synthetic fibers, it will work good with your cream or liquid foundation. It will be easier to clean it too, because you're going to clean your foundation brush really often to avoid it from bacteria. Brush that made from synthetic fibers will dry faster after you clean it than animal hair brush, and also more durable than animal hair brush.

The brush is super soft, it gives natural finish and great coverage for my foundation, it doesn't give streaks. The most amazing thing about this brush is, the brush hair NEVER falls out, incredible but true, I'm so impressed! I only do deep cleansing for the foundation brush, and even though I clean it regularly, I never see the brush hair shed!

 thebodyshop-usa.com says:
An elegant, high-quality brush that provides even application of The Body Shop make-up liquid foundations and highlighting products, with a natural-looking finish.

Instruction:
Use the back of your hand as a palette and dab the brush into the liquid. Apply only a small amount to the end of the brush and lightly blend the foundation onto the face and neck area, starting from the top center of your face and working your way out.

Tips:
Using a brush to apply foundation distributes product better than a sponge. To protect your Brush, cleanse it regularly using The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil & Mint Daily Facial Wash. Rinse until water runs clear and stand to dry naturally overnight.

The only thing I hate is the handle is too big, so I cannot put it in my brush case, even though its really comfortable to have a big grip, so its easier to use.

I love love love this brush so much, The Body Shop brushes never failed me, especially the hair brush which never fall.

Hey everyone, how have you been? I finally have my own domain, www.beautyappetite.com yay! This is also showing my seriousness into blogging. I hope we can learn more together about beauty-related things :).

I'm a contact lens user. And I always use lens in my daily life because I have bad sight. Before this, I was using a clear lens from Acuvue or FreshKon, so my look always look natural. But I want my eyes look bigger but still, natural, HOW? Most of you must know about famous Geo Lens which made from Korea.

I try the Geo Nudy in Brown color. The diameter is only 14.00mm, why I said only 14.00mm because nowadays people prefer bigger lens, from 16.00mm or more, and I've seen some lenses have diameter 19.00mm!! That's crazy, because that kind of lens are of course not good for our eyes, remember we only have 2 eyes, we have to take care of our own eyes, 15.00mm lens are big enough. Even I use the 14.00mm lens and they really make a big difference from my bare eyes.

The water content is 38-42% and really comfortable, seems like not wearing any lens! I like the brown color and the pattern, because it DOES make my eyes look brown, when other brands of contact lens which come in brown color usually look pathetically dark brown on my black eyes, you will barely see the brown color.

Again, I should say that these lens are super comfortable, I can use them from I get up from bed until I go back home, its like more than 12 hours. I don't know about you but I'm one of the people who doesn't need eye drops for contact lens even I'm in a air-condition room all day long.

Splatters on my nails :p

And these lens don't make my eyes dry or itchy. And really easy to clean them up! Just rub them a bit with the cleanser and put in the case for at least 4 hours before using. I don't have to worry about the lens will tear apart or something when I rub them, because the material is good even though these lens are the thickest lens I've ever had, but surprisingly really comfortable to wear.

I definitely will buy more Geo Lens! Let's buy ALL the lens!!

I got a question in my formspring about whether I have tried this The Body Shop lip butter or not. Thank you so so so much for your question, that reminds me that I haven't reviewed this chapstick yet. I'm type of blogger who buy so many, try so many things, and always forget to review. Maybe because there are so many things that need to be reviewed? (Alibi)

I know that I reviewed many of The Body Shop products, but I'm not a The Body Shop fanatic, I have many of The Body Shop products, because they're really easy to find, every big malls in Jakarta has The Body Shop counter, more than 70% of malls in Jakarta are big, and malls are everywhere here. So you'll understand why I have many products of The Body Shop.

I'm a lip balm junkee, but actually I started trying the lip butter since couple months ago. Actually the lip butter from The Body Shop comes in two packaging, the one in the jar and the stick one. I've tried the ones in the jar long time ago, and I hate it, all of them smell really really bad, and they  didn't moisturize my lips at all! I was afraid to try the Cocoa Butter Lip Care Stick at the first time, I thought It'd be the same like the lip butters in the jars. Because I usually grab the born lippy (the ones in the jar, before the born lippy stick is coming out), but I thought why not give this one a try?

(without flash)

The outside look of this lip butter is nice, the smell is incredibly good, it smells chocolate and makes me feel like licking my lips everytime, totally different with lip butter in jars. The texture is creamy, it doesn't give colors to your lips, just transparent and sheer, its good for everyone who doesn't like lip balm with colors. It moisturize my lips really well, just a little goes a long way, I like to apply it before I sleep, so I will not have chapped lips the next day.

(with flash)

Actually I think this lip butter is the best lip care in The Body Shop. If you're confused on buying the lip butter or the born lippy, I'd recommend you to buy the lip butter instead. But, once again not the lip butter in jars! Or you're only losing your money on them.

Smooth, radiant, healthy and soft skin. Those are things that everyone wants. One key to get smooth skin is exfoliation. Exfoliation remove dead skin cells, so your skin will appear smoother, healthier and more radiant.

Some people prefer to use exfoliating cleanser to exfoliate their skin, so they have two cleansers, the normal one that they use everyday, and the exfoliating cleanser which they use once or twice a week.

But I prefer to use this facial cleansing pad from The Body Shop, so I don't have to buy two different cleansers. First, its good for my wallet, and secondly its really hard for me to get the perfect cleanser, if I want to buy exfoliating cleanser. All I have to do is wash my face as usual, and wet the facial pad with lukewarm water and put some facial wash on it and rub it to my face gently.

Remember, not to exfoliate your skin when you are sunburnt, or when you have open wounds in your face/body. Also if you have severe acne prone, try not to exfoliate your face, you don't want acne scars, right? And because exfoliation will dry your skin, don't forget to moisturize your skin! Apply your favorite moisturizer after the exfoliation is done.

Exfoliate skin once or twice a week is enough to get smooth and healthy skin, especially if you have dry skin. Because I have oily-combination type skin, I prefer to exfoliate once every two or three days.
If your skin suddenly become so dry, stop exfoliate your skin for some time. Give your skin a time to adapt it, to renew the skin cells. Because everyone has different types of skin, what works good on me, may not work really good on you. You should remember, don't scrub your skin so hard, just be gentle, especially if you have sensitive skin.

After use this facial cleansing pad for couple of months, I feel my skin is a lot smoother and healthier. So I'll keep this facial pad company, because I haven't found any better cleansing pad than this.
I hope I will get better looking skin later on, so let's do a better job for our own skin from now on!

How many times do you usually do exfoliation every week?

What's up beautiful ladies? Today I'm going to review about Revlon: Costum Eyes #020 Naturally Glamorous. To be honest, I've bought this since last year, and it sures took me awhile to finally review this eyeshadows hehe.

The eyeshadows photos were taken December 2011, exceptionally for the swatches photos, those were taken today. I like to take photos of things that are still new, so I can capture them more beautiful, because I always want to give the best for my you readers *smile*. Because the eyeshadow condition is pretty nasty and untidy now, since I often use this eyeshadow.

First impression:
I was really excited to try this, the CostumEyes has many other colors, but I chose this Naturally Glamorous, because the colors are really pretty and I can use this in daytime or nighttime. And Revlon is one of my favorite drugstore makeup, so I believe this product must be awesome too.
The packaging is made from plastic, the size is slim and small so its really easy to bring with. It comes with 4 shadows, 1 liner and a dual-ended sponge applicator.

At the back of the package, there's a guide of how to apply the shadows, perfect for beginner who wants to play with colors.

I only follow the number from writing at the back of the package, somehow it look like backward if you see it like this.
This warm and neutral colors are suitable for every skin colors. The colors are all metallic, from #1 Metallic Beige, #2 Metallic Copper, #3 Metallic Champagne, #4 Metallic Bronze, and #5 Metallic Dark Brown

SWATCHES:

I really love this eyeshadow, because the colors have great pigmentation even if I don't use eyeshadow primer, except for #3 Champagne, the color doesn't show too much, I know that color is used for highlight underneath brow bone so you don't have to use an intense champagne color for that. But I'm disappointed, because the champagne color is my favorite between this five shadows.
The texture is a bit chalky, but not too much. The applicator is useful too, if I bring this eyeshadow out, so I don't have to bring eyeshadow brush, this is the first time that I've ever given a good compliment for an eyeshadow applicator, because most of them suck, but this one is pretty good, its soft and will not harm my eyes.

(Above: without flash // Below: with flash)

Overall, I like this shadow and I think I'm going to repurchase this later on. The only thing I don't like is the shadow is a bit chalky, and the champagne color doesn't show too much. I bought it for only Rp. 100.000 (USD 11.00) and its really a great deal to get 5 great eyeshadow colors.

(Such a long post title, I know!)

I have this baby for quite a long time, but took me a while to review this. I always forget I haven't reviewed this blusher yet.

So I got the Lovely Me:Ex Cushion Blusher in Orange color from The Face Shop, I usually avoid orange-peach-tangerine-coral color, because I thought the color won't match my skin color. But I gathered courage for myself to buy and try this orange blusher, and after I tried this, I'm so deeply in love with orange. And in the contrary of what I always think, I would say orange really suits my skin tone a lot better than pink. I regret I've never got my courage to try orange long time ago, because orange color match asian skin tone perfectly.

At first glance, I was so disappointed to buy this, because when I opened the package, the blush is glittery, I swear! Who wants your cheeks sparkling like Edward Cullen?
But when I apply it on my cheeks, there's no glitter at all, just pretty orange color.
Many people says that the packaging is really cute, but actually I don't like it because its hard to open and close it, the packaging is made from cardboard, it always makes me mad to close the cap when I'm in a hurry.

It comes with white puffy cushion applicator which is really handy, so I don't have to bring blusher brush when I bring this blusher. The applicator works really good, it will blend the blusher color into your skin, so I prefer to use the applicator than using blusher brush. Because the texture is powdery, its better just to use the applicator.

The color is quite pigmented, so I don't have to worry to put it too much, and it looks so natural on me. I really love it, thats why I almost use this blusher everyday. And the color is good for Spring and Summer! The longevity is pretty good, it will stay on your face all day long, unless you rub your face.

If you don't want orange color, you also can try use another shade that The Face Shop has:
#01 Romantic Pink
#02 Sexy Orange
#03 Pure Lavender
#04 Baby Pink
#05 Vivid Peach
At first I thought mine is the Vivid Peach one, because both of them look almost the same. But I think the Sexy Orange one is better, because the Vivid Peach color is too pale for me.

SWATCHES:

So overall, I like this blusher a lot, except the packaging. A lot of people complimenting the cute packaging, how its so colorful and cute. But I think it makes it looks so cheap, because its only made from cardboard. But I'm going to repurchase it again and again, and maybe I will try to use the other shade too!
