Beauty Appetite by Jessica Simon

I was invited to join Lancôme Hypnôse Eyeshadow Palette launching event last weekend on 14th September. I was really excited, because I love Lancôme's eyeshadow, they're always pigmented, has wide range of beautiful shades, luxurious packaging and all. So I'm pretty curious about this new Hypnôse Eyeshadow Palette.

These are the 12  Hypnôse Eyeshadow Palettes, every palette is beautiful, has amazing opacity, everything of what you'd expected from Lancôme. Lancôme has three version of eye make up result, Doll Eyes, Star Eyes and Drama Eyes, that you can choose based on what you need, from natural look, day look, night look, you name it! They also showed Gloss in Love, and Mat Miracle Foundation, some recommended products behind the palettes.

And lots of skincare products to try on! I couldn't stop swatch all the eyeshadow, try out the skincare and lip glosses and foundation, well practically everything.

One of the amazing thing on earth, the applicator from the palette is magnetic!! It is the first, and the only one in the market, and I believe there will be lots of brands follow this genius idea. So you don't have to worry of losing your applicator, perfect for traveling so you don't have to bring lots of brushes, because I also love to travel light. The packaging is fabulous yet sturdy, a very high quality packaging.

And the second amazing thing is you can use this eyeshadow whether in dry or wet application, WHAT?! Yes my dear, you can use it wet for more intense look. All you have to do is wet your cotton pad, then pat your brush or applicator to the wet cotton pad (do not to wet your entire brush with tap water) and after that apply the eyeshadow to your eyelids as usual, with this step, you can also use eyeliner brush to line your eyes, so this palette can works as eyeshadow and eyeliner!

Here are 3 winners of the best dress code, and I was one of them! It took me a while to choose what dress to wear though, because I love dressing up and dolling up hehehehe. Got some gift from Lancôme, which will be reviewed in this blog :)

Lancôme team, the models, blogger friends and I at the event. I really had fun!
These five photos above are actually Neni's from Neni Diyanti's Blog, who's kind enough to let me copy the photos, thank you love!! :) And pictures below are the ones which I took with my camera.

Lancôme provided three models to do a demo makeup show with three looks, Doll, Star and Drama. The eye makeups are amazing! I love the color payoff, I love all the looks, I feel like buying all of the palettes, each palette cost IDR 650.000, and you get 5 pretty & opaque colors, definitely worth it!

They also had a fashion show, after the demo makeup was finished. All of them are gorgeous, all of them had different look representing Doll Eyes, Star Eyes and Drama Eyes.

All of us get a chance to bring 'Gloss in Love' home, and this is my current favorite lip gloss! Intense review for this lip gloss will be posted separately.

If you guys have been reading this blog for quite a while, then you must notice that I love sheer, natural-looking, lip products. I love my-lips-but-better lip products, even sometimes I also love bold colors on my lips, but most of the time, I use these kind of lip products. If you're looking for a great my-lips-but-better lip product, then you might want to know this.. Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm, the shade that I have is Super Strawberry.

Clinique has some types of Chubby Stick or this giant crayon type of things, such as Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes, Chubby Stick Lip Colour Balm like the one I have here which has sixteen subtle colors, Chubby Stick Intense Lip Colour Balm, with more vibrant colors, and also Chubby Stick Concealer. I love the packaging, they're sleek, good for traveling, easy to use, and you don't have to sharpen it, just swivel it up.

I really love this gorgeous shade, it is really natural and subtle, perfect for everyday wear, even when I have no make up on. It glides smoothly on my lips, and really moisturizing. I love that it's pointy at the top, so I can outline my lips first before fill in the products on my lips.

The finish look is just like regular lip balm, with a hint of shine, but not too glossy. However it's not a tinted lip balm, so you have to reapply every 2-3 hours or after you drink or eat. But I don't really mind, because most of tinted lip balm are making my lips dry, so I tend to avoid using tinted lip balm. It cost me IDR 235.000 for the Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Color Balm, it's a little bit on the pricey side, but a little goes a long way.

I do really love this product, I'd really recommend it to you who also love sheer & natural lip products like I do, even though its pretty expensive, but it worth the money you spend. And its also fragrance-free, its a plus for you who dislike fragrance in your makeup or have sensitive nose. I would love to try out more shades of this Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm.

For me, Nivea lip products are not new discovery, because I have been using these for more than 5 years, and I'm pretty sure that you know about these stuffs already. Then I just want to mention that these babies have been helping me to maintain healthy and soft lips, even though they are drugstore products, but the quality is a lot better than some high end products that are more expensive than these. They're about USD 20 (IDR 20.000 something) here in Jakarta, Indonesia, and you can find them at every drugstore in the city.

I have tried all the 'Lip Care', thats what Nivea call their lip balms, and my favorite one is the Fruity Shine in Strawberry, because it has gorgeous shade! I have pale lips, so I prefer colored lip balm, especially the sheer one! It perfectly color my lips, moisturizing and nourishing, has SPF 10 and also smells good, a perfect combo!

When I was at drugstore the other day, and was looking for the Fruity Shine Strawberry (because I ran out of mine), then I found the Vitamin Shake Cranberry & Raspberry, sounds yummy right? I grabbed both of them, and thought I should give the Vitamin Shake a try. The consistency is pretty much the same like the Fruity Shine, I love how it looks like marble, I've never seen anything like that in my lip balm tube before, it smells really really AH-MAH-ZING like raspberry candies. However, I don't really like the pale color on my lips, so I don't really use it when I'm going out. Practically, I only use it before I go to bed.

Even though these products do not stay long on my lips, they're not like stain lip products, so you have to reapply after you eat or drink. But I love them (especially the Fruity Shine!) because they're really moisturizing, the color is sheer, has glossy look, has SPF 10 and smell amazing. If you had flaky, chapped, dry lips, so should consider on buying these products, because they work great on me! :)

I love to play with colors. Dark colors, bright colors, everything is beautiful. And I think that's why I don't have a specific favorite color, because I love all colors. Somehow there are some rules when you're playing with colors, like don't use more than 3 colors per outfit, in make up, we also have rules, when you have many colors for your eye makeup, use nude lipstick, or vice versa, when you have bright lips, do not overpower your eye makeup.

Start off with moisturizer, makeup base, foundation or bb cream, and concealer. In the picture above, I  also already did my brows, and applied eye primer.

Apply eyeshadow that is one or two shade darker than your skin tone, and do not use eyeshadow that is too glittery, use matte ones. After that, blend the edges.

To create a double lids effect, I apply black eyeshadow on my eyelid with small eyeshadow brush, then blend the eyeshadow with big eyeshadow blending brush. You can see this trick add depths to my eye(s).

Apply black eyeliner on upper lash line, and brown eyeliner on your lower lash line. I prefer brown to black because it looks a lot more natural. Then you can curl your lashes and apply mascara, but I skip that part.

After that apply powder, blush and bronzer. And lastly apply your favorite bright lipstick, and your look is completed!! :)

What do you think about this look?

Meet NYX Matte Bronzer, magical powder to make you have healthy and glowing complexion in seconds. My shade is Medium (Dark Golden Brown), it originally has 5 shades I believe, they're: Light, Deep, Medium, Dark Tan, and Deep Tan. Get bronzer that is a two shades darker than your skin tone, and not more than that or your face will look extremely fake.

The packaging is good, so sleek, simple and good for traveling, it also contains mirror. But it doesn't come with brush, but I rarely use small compact brush anyway, so I don't really mind that. I love that it is matte, so its perfect for contouring.

This shade is perfect for my skin tone, I use it to contour my face, and it also works really great. Its not too orange, or too dark on my skin. The pigmentation is nice, and stay for about 5-8 hours on my face. The downside of this product is that its a lil' bit chalky, so you have to tap off the excess from your brush first.

These are my current scents..
I use The Body Shop White Musk Libertine body wash slash shower gel in the morning and followed by applying The Body Shop White Musk Libertine body lotion to freshen up my day! The scent will last longer if you use the same fragrance of body wash, body lotion, body butter, body mist, eau de toilette, or perfume. It smells floral, musky, and sweet at the same time, and I think its perfect for day time!

And at night, I always apply my Marks & Spencer Lavender (Floral Collection) hand and body lotion. Floral scents always help me to fall asleep faster. When you feel tense, tired from work or school, and all you want is a good rest, this baby will help you to fall asleep.

What is your favorite scent?

Starting from today, I start my second internship in a exhibition organizer. Work starts from 9 to 6, I'm going to go really early for work, and come home at night (due to the amazing traffic jam in Jakarta), I may not have so much time to blog for 6 months, as I'm going to be so tired during the weekdays, and my free times are only the weekends. But I will try my best, to blog, to reply to you all :)

How have you all been doing?
